Back from the West Coast

I'm home again! San Jose is beautiful although I didn't get to see much of it except for my hotel, the downtown area near the hotel, and the airport. All in all, it was a good trip, beautiful weather, and a great conference, where I learned a lot of new things. I never fully adjusted to sleeping on Pacific Coast Time though so I found myself waking up every night at about 3:30 am.
Romance novels are not my usual reading, but I enjoy a good romance every now and then. On my way to San Jose, I listened to Debbie Macomber's A Good Yarn, which actually centers around a group of women who are taking a sock knitting class at a LYS. It's a cute little story that moves quickly. Today on Amazon, I discovered that there is also an accompanying book with patterns. The author must be a knitter. I finished another Booga Bag on my plane ride and made significant progress on Branching Out, which I hope to block next weekend. And, my blog was added to Knitting Blogs while I was away. How cool is that?! I am very excited about that.

Congrats on getting into the ring. You are part of the fold. :)

My library has both the book and the companion patterns. Very cool.

I enjoyed that book too. I didn't know it had an accompanying pattern book too! Do they make the stuff they knit in the book??
