Weekend Warrior Progress

I've completed the back of my first ever garment, the Weekend Warrior from The Yarn Girls' Guide to Simple Knits. The yarn is Lion Brand Homespun double stranded, part of the stash that P. gave me last month. I am using size 17 needles, which feel kind of awkward to me. It's all stockinette, but I haven't had a lot of time to sit and knit lately so it's been growing a row or two here at a time. On to the front of the sweater, and then the sleeves.

Simon went for his "day at the spa" on Friday. I joke that when he goes to the groomer that it's his day of beauty - after all, he gets a bath, his hair cut and blow dried, a pedicure, etc. Here he is looking all glamorous. What a sweetheart. When I went to pick him up, he was hanging out with a standard poodle, Henry, while the groomer was working with a small bichon frise. They were sitting right beside the groomer's table. Seeing little Simon with Henry, the standard poodle was a funny sight, but they seem to have become friends. He doesn't usually do so well with bigger dogs so this was really nice sight.
