My car overheated on the way home from work yesterday. The check engine light came on, and there was steam coming out from the hood. When I opened the hood, there was no coolant and the radiator cap was just lying on top of the radiator. Very bizarre because we had just taken it to Sears over the weekend for an oil change. I never thought you would have to inspect your car after an oil change to make sure that they had actually completed the job! Today we took it to another shop to check it out, and I got to take the metro and bus home from work (and I actually knit the whole ride home). All is okay with the car, but I am pretty peeved with Sears because if they had done the job correctly then none of this would have happened. J. talked with the manager today to see if they will compensate us for the extra expense, which is still to be determined.

On the knitting front, I've started the Booga Bag and learned how to pick up stitches. When I finally figured it out, it was pretty easy to do. I tried it last night, which I shouldn't have done since I was in a grumpy mood about the car, and I got the needles all twisted. I picked up stitches, but it was definitely not "in the round". It went much better this afternoon although instead of 100 stitches, I have 101. I figure it's better to have one extra then try to undo it again, or at least I hope so. I am kind of surprised about how small the bag's size is, but maybe it will stretch after felting. I don't know. I do love the Cascade 220 though - it's wonderful to knit with.

I'm sorry to hear about your car. I would be grumpy too.
