Dinner Vegan Style and 2 Yarn Shops

Last night I went out for dinner with friends in Columbia. We went to a vegetarian restaurant called Great Sage, which was actually pretty good. To be honest, I wasn't so sure about this place when K. first suggested it., but I was willing to try it. I had mango iced tea, pasta with portabello mushrooms, and shared a chocolate lava cake with one of my friends. All of us live spread out in the metro area - Baltimore, Northern VA, Columbia, DC, and Montgomery County. We plan on trying to get together once a month rotating locations.

Since I was going to be in Columbia, I headed there a little bit early to check out 2 yarn shops in the area. I went to Fiberworks in Ashton and All About Yarn in Columbia. Neither is very close to where I live so I doubt I will be able to get to them very frequently, but it was fun to check them out. One of the women in All About Yarn said she would just be happy to touch and feel all of the yarn. I agreed. LOL. All About Yarn was great - the people working the store were so friendly, and it was very nicely laid out. I bought some Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille to make some washcloths for myself and my mom (probably the flower washcloth from Weekend Knitting) and some Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool to make Branching Out for my MIL (as a table runner).
