Knitty Gritty

I found out about Knitty Gritty on DIYTV, and I have been Tivo'ing (is that a word?) it. This is a new discovery for me. One of J's former co-workers is really into all things crafty, and she told me about it, among so many other knitting resources, like LYS, other books, online sites, etc. She's been fab! It's been a fun show for me to watch to learn more about different types of knitting styles and techniques. Gosh, those gals are so quick with their knitting. I really liked the episode I watched over the weekend. It was on teen knitting, and it had the author of Teen Knitting Club on the show. Coincidentally, this was one of the very first books I checked out of the library on knitting!! Don't laugh. I found this book, along with Kids Knitting, to be really helpful. I got the idea from a co-worker who was also learning to knit with her eleven year old daughter at the same time I took up knitting; the pictures and instructions are easy to follow for newbies. I made the stockinette scarf with seed stitch border on it for my mom. It was cool to hear the author, Jennifer Wenger, speak about the book and her designs. I also liked watching them demonstrate different techniques. I will be sure to watch some more episodes on Tivo. I love my Tivo!
