Beading and Knitting Together

This summer I took 2 beading classes with my pal C., who I met when I was going to grad school at UMD. We took a drop-in class at a cute little store near my house, and I learned to make a bracelet. We liked it so much that we went back and took a class again the following week. The second time I learned to make earrings. This is a terrible terrible picture, but this is one of the pairs that I made for myself. I love these earrings, particularly the clear beads and the detail on the silver beads, which you can't really see in this picture. The teacher said that once you learn to make earrings, you will never buy another pair again. I think she may be right.

Today I was browsing around some blogs and came across some awesome stitch makers on Something From Nothing and Sheep in the City. How cool - knitting and beading together, my two obsessions right now. They are so pretty, so much better than the plastic safety pin like markers I bought earlier this summer. I want to make some beaded stitch markers! I have my pliers and my head pins ready. I need to visit the bead store to pick up some pretty beads. I am excited.
