Baking Time

I spent most of last night in the kitchen baking away, banana bread for J's office and chewy oatmeal raisin cookies for Saturday's bake sale to raise funds for the OBG Rescue Group at the Rockville Petsmart. This is my second loaf of banana bread this week as I made a loaf on Sunday for my office. Why do bananas start going bad so quickly? The oatmeal raisin cookies are new favorites of ours; a co-worker brought them to a potluck lunch and shared the recipe. They are wonderful. Both of these receipes are real easy to make. I am not a huge fan of making cookies since you have to keep watching the timer, but it's for a good cause so I'm not complaining.

In other foodie news, I went to the Farmer's Market yesterday, and I got 3 red peppers and 3 zucchini for 2 bucks! What a steal. I will be making stuffed red peppers and chococolate chip zucchini bread over the weekend. Yum. Whoever thought that zucchini could taste so good, but anything with chocolate tastes amazing, right?
